Lavish amenities lure buyers to large lots in Crown Ranch

A new 3,500-home acreage community located in Montgomery and Grimes counties is offering large lots with a twist.

Crown Ranch, located four miles north of Magnolia, off FM 1486, is offering amenities typically found only in larger master-planned communities, not in acreage communities where the oversized lots themselves are usually the biggest draw.

The 4,237-acre community will have a 13-acre park, a recreation center, high-speed Internet access, two lighted tennis courts, a pool, a club house, a pavilion and sand volleyball courts.

"A lot of developers of acreage communities just set up an entrance, lay the roads and then start selling the lots, but we thought it would be a unique selling point to offer a lifestyle within an acreage community," says Michael Weingrad, director of sales and marketing with Crown Developments Ltd., the project's developer.
